Harmonix Concert Band

Harmonix Concert Band has a dedicated core membership of 35 enthusiastic musicians, comprising of brass, woodwind and percussion. Hayden Dalton is the current musical director. Our performance focus centres on classic and contemporary wind band repertoire, balanced out with lighter selections such as film and popular music.

The band seasonally performs at local community events with other local school and community ensembles. During 2020 and 2021, whilst rehearsals weren’t able to commence, Harmonix Concert Band developed a series of isolated recordings.

Harmonix Concert Band is always welcoming to new members. Potential new players are encouraged to come down on a Monday night to check us out!

We rehearse at Baulkham Hills Community Centre. 390 Windsor Road, Baulkham Hills. Monday nights during public school terms. 7.30 - 9.00pm.

Hayden Dalton - Musical Director

Hayden is one of Sydney’s brightest up and coming musicians. He is a multi-instrumentalist, performer and educator. Hayden started playing the trumpet at age 9 in the school training band. Throughout his schooling, Hayden was lucky enough to tour overseas to eastern Europe in 2015 with the Arts Alive Combined Schools Band, and Hawaii in 2016 with Epping Boys High School. Additionally, Hayden has performed in prestigious venues, such as the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Town Hall and Qudos Bank Arena at Olympic Park.

Hayden began conducting whilst still at high school in 2018. Since then, Hayden has worked in numerous primary and high school band programs as a tutor and conductor. In 2022, Hayden is conducting over 10 rehearsals a week with ensembles of all ages and abilities.

Hayden was excited to be appointed Musical Director of Harmonix Concert Band in 2019, bringing his youthful enthusiasm and experience to community banding. Also in 2019, along with David Humphreys, Hayden established Harmonix Big Band, in which he co-directs and plays lead trumpet.
